white out by street smith x shardette

Sigh.. I miss Summer and the ability to wear white on white on white. A few more snaps taken before I left for Vancouver, by the talented Miss Liz of Street Smith. Everything in this outfit is perfection to me: cute knit from Kuwaii, chic white jeans and those SOLD OUT Windsor Smith sandals that I was stalking and hunting for months. Not that they're really needed now ¯\(º_o)/¯  x Sharday

How amazing are these ombre nails? My friend Harriet & I did a little nail DIY sess today and the result was pretty good. These would be perfect for the upcoming Summer season or you can switch up the colours & make your own combo!

You will need: 1 x sponge, 3 x nail colours & 1 x top coat (+ a whole lotta nail polish remover and buds)

1 / Paint nails with white base coat

2 / Dab on yellow colour over at least half the nail

3 / Dab on orange colour only on the tips

4 / Finish with clear top coat & tidy up nails with nail polish remover

here comes the sun

This jumper has been on high rotation lately.. possibly because it screams "Spring is on it's way"! Minty green goes nicely with so many things in my wardrobe, but my favourite item to pair it with are these Bettina Liano geo jeans and stilettos. ♫ Here comes the sun doo doo doo doo .

baddies

I just love my new bada$$ Ksubi top & Karen Walker shades. The top has such a relaxed, comfy fit -perfect for Spring/Summer (who know's when it's going to start though?).

I also upgraded in the lens department. Bye bye KW Number One's and hello Anytime's! Yes I know they look pretty similar, but the Anytime's are the crazy, quirky, cool sister to the Number One's! Oh yeah!

DIY zig zag nails

As you may have guessed, I'm kinda loving nail art right now. Here's another DIY that Harriet & I came up with: crazy zig zag tips!

You will need: 2 different nail polish colours, sticky tape, nail polish remover & buds (for mistakes)

1. Cut a triangle shaped piece of tape around 2 cm long. Cut this in half again to get 2 symmetrical triangles. Place these on the base of your nail and paint the visible half.

2. Instantly pull off the tape and allow it to dry for a decent amount of time

3. Repeat the process by placing new triangles a bit lower down the nail. You could do it a third time for even more of an effect! xx Sharday

DIY pastel geo nails

My friend Harriet is pretty talented when it comes to nail art. So I asked her to show me how to do the 'geo' and in turn share this easy DIY with all of you.

You will need: 3 nail polish colours, sticky tape, nail polish remover and cotton buds (for mistakes)

1. Start by painting your nails a base colour & wait for it to dry

2. Place a piece of sticky tape over your nail, leaving only a small area of the nail showing. Paint this another colour and pull off the sticky tape when wet

3. Repeat the process with another colour and voila! Be very careful when you pull off the tape. New nail polish works the best.

holidays

Yay for uni holidays! The other day Gabby and I made a mid-week visit to Luna Park & St Kilda pier. The downside of uni holidays are that it's also school holidays (grr little kids) and holidays don't last forever :(

P.s. Loving my new Faddoul vest that I won from the Dark Blue Stripes giveaway.. soo lucky!

CAMO

I have a feeling that this camo parka is going to help me get through Winter. It's functional, it's warm & it's my new pal! Now you have to tell me, what's going to get you through Winter? Hot chocolate, red wine, spooning? :P  xx Sharday

DIY chunky chain bracelets

Here is the chunky chain DIY I have been promising, that will take no more than 5 minutes!
2) Measure the size of the bracelet making allowance for the clasp
3) Open up the chain with plyers, remove your chosen length and close the ends
4) Add on a jumper ring to both ends
5) Add on the parrot clasp to just one end
6) Voila!

DIY maxi split skirt..

The past few days I have been working on two gorgeous sheer maxi's in both black and purple. Because I didn't have a pattern (and I'm a slight perfectionist) it involved a lot of unpicking, resewing and general teeth clenching! This ain't a easy DIY as chiffon is one tricky mofo to sew but if you have moderate sewing skills you'll be fine!

You will need:

- At least 1.5-2 metres of chiffon/sheer fabric
- Elastic band (enough for your waist)
- Thread
- Sewing tools

1. Cut two fabric pieces. The first 55cm (front) and the second 60cm (back). The selvedge will be at the waist and at the hem. You can adjust this depending on your size or how gathered you want your skirt.

2. Overlock all raw edges.

3. Sew 45cm down (2cm seam allowance) on each side. This will make the side splits.

4. Fold the waistband down, this will form where the elastic will go. How far down you'll sew depends on the width of your elastic. Make it only a few millimetres wider than your elastic. Don't forget to leave a small hole to feed the elastic through.

5. Once you've fed the elastic through, overlap the two ends and secure with MANY stitches! Close up the hole. To secure the elastic in place, do a few stitches near the side seams.

6. OPTIONAL - Depending on how you want your skirt to look, you can make a little tube to go underneath. All I did was measure my hips and make a two layer tube skirt with a length of 35cm. Hand sew inside the waistband.

7. Finish off the edges and bring up the hem if required.. VOILA!
